Meet The Owner

My  name is Whitney McDonald, I am the owner and founder of NC Social Solutions. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate through the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board (NCSWCLB). I am also an active member of the National Association of Social Workers. I received my Bachelor’s of Social Work from Elizabeth City State University. I received my Master’s Degree of Social Work from Capella University and I am currently working towards my Doctoral Degree of Social Work. I have been in the Social Work field for over 8 years in several different entities, such as the Department of Social Services as a caseworker, trainer and supervisor. I also have experience and currently work at the state level as a School Social Worker.

My  passion for social work and the mental health  profession developed from my desire to connect people to resources. Whether the need be mental, physical, social or emotional support, my goal is to provide comprehensive counseling and resources to individuals, couples, groups and families from all walks of life, including but not limited to, disabled populations, senior citizens, teen parents, victims of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, youth ages 5-18 and impoverished families. I am 100 percent committed to supporting and encouraging clients to reach realistic goals, by implementing necessary coping skills combined with providing community resources as a holistic approach to healing. 

 

I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Empowerment Theory, Solution Focused Therapy, Strengths Perspective, Person-Centered Therapy, Trauma Informed Approach throughout her work of providing comprehensive counseling and supportive services.
